Too hot in the city? Head for Lake Superior

cover shotSales for Ride Lake Superior are heating up this week, along with the weather. If you’re thinking about cooling off around the greatest of the Great Lakes, you’ll want to plan ahead, especially if you’re going into Canada.

Hotel space around the lake can be tight, especially in our neighbor to the north. Cities in that part of Ontario are few and far between, which means hotel rooms are, too. If you’re a camper, you’ll find many places to unpack your motorcycle trailer.

Whether you ride around the lake clock-wise or counter clock-wise, be sure to bring your U.S. passport. You’ll need it entering Canada and returning to the U.S. The good news is that a DUI will no longer keep you out of Canada, provided your arrest and conviction happened more than 10 years ago.

There’s a lot of great riding and great scenery around Lake Superior. ¬†You could spend weeks riding Michigan’s Upper Peninsula alone! Get out and ride!

Ride Lake Superior Heads to Michigan

Copies of Ride Lake Superior are on their way to Michigan as I write this. Specifically, they’re headed for Tahquamenon Falls Camp 33 Gift Shop.

If you have never visited Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, I urge you to go. It’s one of the most beautiful places in the United States, with lots of curvy roads explore by motorcycle.

Tahaquamenon Falls is a great destination. Located just outside Paradise, Michigan, Tahquamenon Falls State Park has an Upper and Lower set of¬†waterfalls. The lower falls actually has five different falls, and you can rent a rowboat and visit each one of them. This is where Longfellow’s Hiawatha built his canoe.

If you’re planning on circumnavigating Lake Superior this summer, put this park on your list!
